Washing:
- Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse your hair extensions.
- Detangle the hair gently before washing to prevent tangling during the process.
- Rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water, ensuring all shampoo residue is removed.
Conditioning:
- Apply a generous amount of conditioner to the hair extensions, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends.
- Use a wide-tooth comb to distribute the conditioner evenly and detangle the hair.
- Leave the conditioner on for 5-10 minutes to allow it to penetrate the hair shaft.
- Rinse the hair extensions with cool water until the water runs clear.
Drying:
- Gently squeeze out excess water from the hair extensions, avoiding twisting or wringing.
- Pat the hair extensions with a towel to remove excess moisture.
- Allow the hair extensions to air dry naturally whenever possible. If using heat styling tools, use a heat protectant spray and set the tools to a low to medium heat setting.
Nighttime Care:
- Before going to bed, gently brush your hair extensions to remove any tangles or knots.
- Consider braiding or loosely tying up your hair extensions to prevent tangling and friction while sleeping.
- You can also use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and minimize frizz.
